Audi a3 8p ecu removal     More info

I needed a new ecu, on taking off the plastic trim I came across the alluminium box covering the ecu, the two round bolts are once only bolts and there is no other way to get them off, some cut a slot on them and use a flat blade screwdriver, I just cut through them then prised them out, took about twenty minutes to get off about 10 to reverse, make sure when you get the spuds out of the fixed nuts that you have two bolts to replace, simply get two bolts hold the thread of the broken spud against the bolt and if the threads slot into eachother neatly then thats your replacements, dont have them longer that the ones that came out as youve a chance of going through the ecu housing and doing damage inside, hope this helps
