Even though it took me1 try, the fins on the grill can still crack if you pry too far.

So do this at your own risk!!

My battery is dead and the hood latch was stuck. Fortunately, its not the wire that affects the hood release lever from inside the car. That means I was still able top pop the hood. Its the 2nd mechanism, which involves the lever from the grill that is faulty. Regardless, now I don't have to tow this thing to the dealer ship.

So here is the solution if you're in a similar situation with a similar car. Hope this helps.

Note:

Wear rubber gloves! Optional I guess, but it kept my hands clean and scratch free.

I forgot to mention that the black grill has no catches at the bottom. So once you have the top pried open, you can just grab it and lift upwards.

Also, while prying, you should use the other hand to pull towards you. The grill is pretty flexible, so don't be too afraid but still use a bit of caution.

The grill should snap right back on. The chrome part as well.
