You can start with a 16mm which is the exact diameter of the sensor and then move up to a 17mm.

The important part is to get the sensor spining with the Vise grips which lowers the friction retaining the sensor in place,.... then prying with the wrench off that hub. You get an insane amount of leverage like a 40/1 advantage so it comes right out. The sensor hub is made of metal as well as they likely thought it would take a lot of force to remove it safely.

Once you get it out use a "Dremel tool" to sand/shave out the sensor hole in the hub till it "gently" slides in into the hub cavity.
