Does the k and n filter improve the cars performance and mpg. or is it a waste of money ????? |

davethekiwi1956: In most cases it is a waste of money, and in some cases actually reducing the performance. Most modern cars have filter boxes with ducting to external air intakes, to assure cold air into the intake manifold. A K&N filter usually sucks warm air from the engine compartment, with less oxygen and actually results in less horsepower. If you install K&N filters you should probably also adjust the fuel mixture......... Tom |
