For the fifth year running amateur golfers from the region gathered to participate in the world's most popular tournament series for amateur golfers -- the Audi quattro Cup. Following national tournaments in the UAE, Kuwait and Oman, the three winning teams proceeded directly to the World Final at the Arabella Golf Club in the Western Cape, South Africa from November 23rd to 27th, 2012. Over 100 golfers competed in the UAE national tournament in Dubai. With a score of 42 Stableford points the UAE was represented by Canadians Christian Montpetit & Ron Murphy. The nearest to the pin was claimed by Australian Louise Adams, who also claimed the ladies longest drive. Longest drive for the men went to Dave Russell from the UK. The winning team -- Christian Montpetit & Ron Murphy -- proceeded directly to the Audi quattro Cup World Final in the Western Cape, South Africa. Ron Murphy: "This was unreal and we are shocked that we won. We participated for the fifth time, got very close to win three times and now we finally managed. We are so happy to win this tournament. We are looking forward to participate in the finals in South Africa. It's a once in a lifetime chance to compete against the best amateur golfers from around the world. Audi did a great job in organizing a memorable event."
