Audi A6 4.2 Quattro Modified Exhaust

Had the rear mufflers removed and replaced with straight out pipes. Now it sounds like a V8. The original mufflers made the car so quiet you couldn't hear a thing. And they where rather heavy too so I've saved a bit of weight. And now that I can hear the engine, I drive it in tiptronic mode (manual changes) only now. Keeping it in between 2300 and 4000 rpm is very sweet sounding and the engine comes to life - very responsive - mostly use a very light throttle setting and is quite quick but open her up and she just instantly boogies and growls beautifully. From 4000 to the 6200 rpm redline, things start happening real fast and you are pushed back in the seat firmly. In tiptronic mode it's easy to use engine braking and there is plenty of it. And then the exhaust note burbles and scavengers very nicely indeed. My friends tell me she sounds very very good. My best mate told me that when I drive off with a fair amount of throttle and revs, it sounds real groovy. I've owned a lot of cars over the years, V8's included. But none of them come close to the quality, features and performance of the Audi. Driving is once again enjoyable. Outright fun actually. Love this car and I'm now an Audi addict.
