Dead vs. New: Shock absorbers and bump stops

Comparing the original shock from the rear on my 88 Audi 5000 with the new one waiting to go in. The new bump stop shown here was not the correct model. I wasn't able to find the right one locally, and ended up getting a set of front bump stops. They were very close to what the rears should have been, just a bit taller.
