This is a time lapse of a 3d model car build in cinema 4D, but all the tools used can be found in any other polygon modeling application.. I try to capture the entire vehicle form before cutting in details like glass, cut lines and graphics. After this initial build I subdivide by a factor of 1 then add details. That will be in the next video.. I also use edge weight and break the phong shading to hold character lines to make adjustments easier.. I use 2 materials to evaluate the surfaces. One HDRI environment and another zebra stripe pattern made from black and white lines both added to the environment map of a material. In total I spent abut 4.5 hrs to get to this stage..
